How to choose a Traffic Exchange
November 12th, 2008
In order for me to point you in the right direction, I am going to have to debunk what you have heard or will hear in the future. Some of the people teaching about traffic exchanges are half-right. But what they say is a suggestion and may not give you good results.
What has been said is the Te must have good design, which is untrue. I have had better results from exchanges that have a more corporate feel than the te’s that has a fancy design. Another one is it must be on a popular script, but the truth is the te’s with the most popular scripts are the worst when it comes to cheaters who use bots to rack up hits and cheat the surfer out of there hard work. The admins are doing all they can to stop them but they still exist. These people are not seeing your ads. I have got some results from te’s with popular scripts but it takes longer to see results from them.
So how do you choose a traffic exchange. The truth is there is no sure way to know which one will give you results or not. The only way is to track your results. First you should get a tracker like hitsconnect, protackit or myadstracker that give you the code to put on your website to track hits without having to use a tracker link.
Next go to Google and search for a traffic exchange directory and pick out 10 exchanges and either buy 2000 credits and assign them to your sites or surf enough so you can be in them for 24 hours a day. Next if you do not see any click throughs after the first week then drop them if you are surfing or if after your 2000 credits run out with no click throughs then drop them.
If the exchange gives you click throughs then I would recommend using it for 4-6 weeks before moving on. Then if you get no sign ups then you need to tweak your advertising or move on to another one if you already did. If it gives you consistent sign ups continue using them until the exchange stops giving you sign ups but keep it on your list and wait awhile before surfing it again or buying credits there.
Next time will be a continuation and we will get into other problems you should look for that should be the deciding factor on wether you keep using an exchange or drop it.
